Welcome to day four of the Here Comes the Fun Blog Hop!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour so far. We’ve seen so many great projects, and there are even more to come! Make sure you read all the way to the end of this post to see all of the tour stops, plus how you can win a great prize pack from Art Gallery Fabrics, Sew Caroline, and Fiskars.

I wish I could say that the sun is coming where I live, but unfortunately for those of us who live in the Midwest (on purpose?!), it’s been a dreary winter! But if anything could cheer me up, it would be the vibrant colors of the new fabric line from Caroline Hulse for Art Gallery Fabrics: Here Comes the Fun!

One of the first prints that struck me when I saw this line was Corollas in Ashen, and I chose to use it for the bodice of this sweet . I know that seems odd to pick the one in the entire line with nothing other than black and white! I chose it because I thought it would be amazing with some hand embroidery to add pops of color.

The aqua from the Street Art print in Sun was the most prominent, so it was an easy choice for my thread. I picked up that color again with the straps using Block Stencils in Burst. Bordering the dress with Across Sparks in Black brings it all together and adds a graphic punch, which is always a plus. See what I did there?!

Last, but certainly not least, I rounded out this ensemble with some knit leggings from our , and used the Bloom Montage Knit. If you haven’t tried Art Gallery’s knit yet, what are you waiting for? It is soft and supple, and the prints are amazing.

These fabrics play well with others, like the crochet edged bias tape from  and exposed lace zipper. This is my new favorite hack for an old favorite pattern. Guess I should get on that tutorial, right?

That’s all I have for now! Many thanks to Caroline for including me in this tour; to Art Gallery for the amazing fabric; and Fiskars for the generous scissor swag! Be sure to visit the other stops on the tour, and enter the giveaway over on the Sew Caroline Blog!
