If you’re new to my blog, I can tell you that batiks are new to me. I have several batik fabrics that a friend from Africa sent me, and I’m familiar with the process, but I’ve not had much sewing experience with them. When Tammy invited me to be a part of this blog tour and her Quilt Market booth, I really thought long and hard about what Izzy & Ivy pattern would show off the vibe of this beachy line of fabrics. Brooklyn’s Boho Dress came to mind, and I knew I had the perfect pattern!
Normally I sew a Brooklyn’s Boho with several coordinating fabrics, but because the batik has a pretty busy print, I really wanted to show it off by using the same fabric throughout. I’m so glad I did! I love the variations of color that you can see and it really makes for a fluid line from one section of the dress to another.
I love that this fabric has a coastal feel to it, but it’s not so much that you have to keep it contained to the summer months. This dress happened to pair great with boots and a jean jacket, which were both needed on this crisp night in October when I took these pictures!
We have Brooklyn’s Boho Dress available in both and , and it’s a very quick sew with lots of style!
Thanks to Tammy and Island Batiks for the invite to be a part of this tour! And thank YOU for stopping by! Be sure to enter to win some fabulousness through the Rafflecopter Widget below!

Hi…I love the pairing of the fabric with your pattern. I am a new grandmother to a little girl, and I look forward to exploring the pattern.

what an adorable dress. But I have to say your lovely model just steals the show. 🙂 This dress brings back a lot memories. My mom used to make my sister and I a lot of summer dresses like this for years.

Oh, Hazel, you’re gonna make me CRY! Thank you!
What a cute dress and cute model, she’s definitely shown that dress off in a nice way and pairing the denim jacket it with it is just the right touch.

Seems like the pattern was a perfect pick to showcase the batik. Your model’s smile seems very genuine, and I’ll bet this turned into a favorite outfit.
